ANTHONY T. LEACH SCHOLARSHIP
FOR CURRENT AND ASPIRING CHURCH MUSICIANS
Anthony T. Leach Scholarship applications become available in March of each year. Applications can be obtained by contacting your church office or Minister of Music. You may also write to Capital Area Music Association, P. O. Box 60444, Harrisburg PA 17106 or call (717) 651-9280 to request an application form.
The Anthony T. Leach Scholarship(s) will be awarded to qualified individuals seeking to develop their musical skills and will assist them in paying for their music education either from a private instructor or through an established institution (college, university or conservatory). The award is paid directly to the teacher or institution. Please note that if the recipient is in need of an instructor, CAMA will assist in locating a qualified teacher.
CONDITIONS OF ELEIGIBILITY - The applicant must (1) be recommended by the Pastor of an area church unable to provide funding for the candidates’ music education or training, (2) be able to demonstrate music ability (3) meet interview criteria (4) must be at least 10 years of age.
Applicants meeting the eligibility criteria are interviewed in June and the awards are presented to the recipients at the annual Anthony T. Leach Scholarship Recital.
